A Baby Story

Well, it's hard to believe, but my little Jade is a few weeks old now. They grown up much, much too fast.. I've never really gone into detail about any of my births, but since my blogging is sporadic at best, and all 4 children are (for once!) napping, here's a recap.

As Liam noted, I went into labor at about 10 AM on the 20th. I hadn't been feeling well at all for about a week, and I had had this similar situation with the 3 girls before, so I started packing my bag and such, although repeated consults with my doctor INSISTED that I was several weeks off. Yeah right. I believe that THEY were the ones that were off, as Jade was fairly large for being around a month early.

I don't have a lot of detail. I dropped off the kids at Faye's at about 2 that afternoon when Liam and I took off for the hospital. I was only about 4 centimetres. Ick. Petocin, unfortunately, does not agree with me so I begged, pleaded, and cried with the doctors to let the child be a slow poke. The listened until about 7, when I was still only 6 1/2. I took off at that point, and then my water broke at around 11 or midnight. Isn't that always a pleasent experience, moms? To make a long story short, Jade Celine came out at around 2, after about 20 minutes of pushing. Her head was huge! Ow.

So, that's my story. Moms who read ( all 2 of you...hahaha) what's your story? If you have more than one child, is there any correlation between birth order and speed of labor? Mine seem to be getting longer!! I'm scared to have more.

Better go catch some much needed Z's now. When the children sleep, you must sleep. Or suffer dire consequences.

This is Liam, by the way, on Ellie's account, while she's at the hospital with the baby.

Born early this morning at 2:14 AM.

7 lbs. 14 oz.

21 in.

Both mom and baby are doing well.

Ellie promises to blog later once she gets out of the hospital later.

She started having Braxton-Hicks about a week ago and then at about 10 AM yesterday, she started having the real thing.

Chloe, Memphis, and Cassie all love the baby.

The News

I'm bad at blogging, I have decided. I left you all (all 3 of you..hahaha) possibly worrying about my little girl 5 months ago. I'm sorry.

Memphis had meningitis, but after a while, they were able to treat it. She's fine now.

Our lives are fairly boring, so the thought of blogging never crossed my mind, really. With preparing for the baby coming in a few weeks, and Memphis' hospital bills (which were/are atrocious by the way. Thank God for insurance and a loving church family who was so eager to help us) and with Chloe starting school.

I am sorry for my lack of blogging. I'm getting ready for church, so I have to log off now. I'll give you more updates later.

The day I dreaded is finally here.

Not only did Memphis take her first steps the other day, which while it's good because Liam and I were getting worried because of all of her developmental delays with the problems with her kidneys and liver and being hospitalized so much in the first year, it's also not fun because my baby is growing up. (I know. Serious run-on sentence there.) But also, my two youngest have discovered Chloe's passion. Dora The Explorer.

For the longest time they have sat in with their sister and stared blankly at the screen, but the past couple days, they have really got into the whole thing. Cassie even calls her "Do-a".

Dear lord, I will never get these movies out of my house.

Another girl, perhaps?

Much to my husband's chagrin, I think that I may be carrying another girl. I have been ridiculously sick for the past 8 weeks or so, much like I was with Chloe and the twins. I don't know that another girl would bother me, as Liam and I plan on having 6 or 7 children altogether, so there's still time for a boy. I just think that it would be nice, should something happen that would prevent us from having more. And Liam so wants a son. He loves the girls to pieces, but you know how guys are with all of that.

Altogether, not much to report. Things are good with the baby and now we're just making preparations for Easter. The whole family will be getting together for that, so it will be a full house. I'll get to see my sister and her kids again, which is great, since I don't get to see them much. I'll be sure to update later.

Thank goodness that the chicken pox phase is over. We ended up taking Memphis to the hospital on Friday night for hers. At least all my girls are immune now! :)

It is legal to post on Wordless Wednesday with some words explaining, correct?

As many of you noticed, my picture was of my positive pregnancy test. Again.

At the moment I really don't know how I feel. This wasn't planned and I had planned to wait for a few years before having another child honestly, with all the problems that Memphis had when she was born and the general stress of twins. But there is a part of me that is moderately ecstatic, if that is possible. Liam is ridiculously excited, hoping that maybe this time he will finally get the boy he has been wanting. A house with 4 females and 1 male isn't suiting him well.

I set up a doctors appointment for next Friday. I'll have some more details on my due date and such after that. I'm guessing sometime around late November to early December.

Today is the sixth anniversary of mine and Liam's engagement. It's amazing how quickly time has flown by. I will never forget that night.

We drove into Raleigh that night. It was a bit of a drive (about 25 minutes, actually) but he told me he wanted to take me out for a very special dinner because he felt that he hadn't done a very good job on Valentine's Day. (I didn't tell him, but I kind of agreed with him. : D) We went out to Tir Na Nog, an Irish restaurant there, as my mother is Irish and she and I always had a special bond to that heritage (notice my middle name- Jade). It was wonderful. The food was great and we talked about how work was going for him and how school was going for me (I was in cooking school at the time) and just your average conversation.

After we were finished with our main course and were waiting for dessert, Liam got really serious.

"Ellie?" he asked me.

I looked up at him, a little concerned at the sudden change in mood. I got even more concerned when he continued, "Where is this headed for us?"

Quite honestly I thought he was going to break up with me then and there. "Liam, I think we have a future together. Why do you ask all of the sudden? Are you having doubts or..."

At that moment he got down on one knee and gave me a ring-

"Elena Jade Moore, will you marry me?"

And as you can tell now, the answer was yes.

Turning over a new leaf

I contemplated just restarting my blog on a different site, but I had to come back here. I really didn't want to redo my background info and all, so I'm staying here.

The past year has been psychotic. I have a new nephew, by my sister Faye, named Matthew Jameson Morton. He's amazing. 6 lbs. 3 oz. Amazing.

My daughters have all been wonderful. My oldest is starting kindergarten pretty soon and the two younger are walking and talking now. They just celebrated their first birthday.

Liam and I are doing wonderful as well. I have not gotten a new job, on account of my girls, and honestly don't plan on going back to work.

There may be some more changes in the works for our family pretty soon, if all goes well. I will keep y'all posted. I honestly hope that I will be able to commit myself more to this blog this time around.

Busy..

I have been extremely busy the past month. We found out that Memphis does indeed have colic, which has been taking up a great deal of our time. My sister Faye recently found out that she is pregnant and is due around November. She and her husband, Brad, have a son, Mark,7, and a daughter, Brielle,4, already. She has been talking about wanting another baby for quite some time, so I am very excited for all of them. Chloe will be starting preschool next year. We just signed her up. She has mixed feelings about all that. She is excited to go and meet other children, but on the other hand, she is nervous about leaving home for a little while every couple of days to some place other than Grandma or Aunt Faye's house. We'll just have to see how that goes.

As you should know by now, I gave birth to twin girls one week ago today. Well, since then it has been fairly hectic. Chloe isn't sure how she feels about the twins. Especially Memphis, who I think is a colic baby. She's been very fussy. Cassie is very quiet. They are polar opposites. It's funny. Liam has been extremely supportive of all of this. He even gets up occasionally (of course then, he goes back to sleep right away but that's beside the point. haha) All and all everyone is very excited about the babies. My sister has been at my house for the past couple of days, and my mom stayed with Chloe while I was in the hospital. Chloe was devestated while Liam and I were gone. She was convinced that we were leaving forever because we didn't want her anymore because we had the twins. She settled down after she finally grasped that we were coming back as soon as the babies were born. Well, I'm going to go get some rest while the babies are asleep.

I had my baby shower last weekend. It was absolutely wonderful. I got so many wonderful things for the twins!! I can't believe that there is only 38 days left! so excited!Chloe is feeling kind of left out lately. I think its just how hectic its been. I do try to spend alot of time with her, especially since after the babies are born it will be alot tougher to balance. I am trying though. She is going to preschool next year, which will be nice for her to be able to socialize with kids her own age. Well, I should probably go and fix lunch for Liam and Chloe since I am going to Raleigh to go shopping with my sister today. I will write another entry soon. I am sorry it has been so long since the last one.

Alone with the stomach flu

My husband left early this morning for Chicago. He'll be back on the 3rd meaning this is the first New Years eve we've been away from each other since we've been married. It's not gonna be fun. Chloe I think is getting a little better. Her fever has gone down a little bit and she ate some toast this morning. She's sad that her Daddy left while she was sick. She is quite the little drama queen. She started crying and said "Mummy, he's leaving me in my time of meminant need!" It was so funny. I don't know where she learnt the word eminent though (did I spell that right? english was never my forte)The nursery is almost finished. I'm so glad. My sister is throwing a baby shower on the 20th of next month. I'm pretty excited. It should be fun. Well, I'm going to go make Chloe and I some lunch.

After xmas let down

Chloe has come down with something. She hasn't been able to keeep anything down today. She has a fever. She's very pasty. I feel so bad for her. She has stayed in bed all day today so she hasn't got to enjoy any of her big gifts. Well, she did lay down in Liam and I's room for a little while and watched some of her Dora the Explorer movies. She dozed off during one of them so I went to work on the babies room for a while longer. She woke up and howled because no one was there with her. I'm pretty tired but my house is a wreck and Liam is asleep because he's leaving for Chicago tomorrow on a buissness trip. He usually helps me. So, i better go now.

Merry late Christmas to all!! i am so sorry that I havent posted in forever!! Its been pretty hectic! Liam and I had our anniversary the other day and then Chloe just turned 3 last month. Mix that together with preparing for (unexpected) twins and I have had no time for anything. Chloe was so excited, she has developed a taste for Dora the Explorer so I got her a whole bundle of Dora things, plus her room is remodeled in Dora. She has quite a personality. Liam gave me a combo anniversary-christmas gift. He gave me an gold band with diamonds embedded in it , i'm sure you've seen the kind. It was a lovely surprise. I recently quit my job at Michelangelo's so I can spend more time with chloe and then with the twins when I have them. I'm so excited! Did I mention that they are both supposed to be girls? I have been very busy decorating the nursery. All yellow and white with two white cribs and my rocking chair from Chloe's baby days. They seem so long ago. We have some names picked out. The one that I absolutely love is verry interesting! It's very me. We're not telling anyone our names so far because of there originality, we don't want them to be stolen or copied. But, I should probably go now. Hopefully it won't be so long in between posts this time.

Hyperventilating!!!

I had a doctor's appointment today. The doctor was just doing the routine checkup and he came to the point where he checked the heartbeat. His face went all wierd and Liam and I got scared. When we asked what was wrong he explained that he thought he heard multiple heartbeats. I laughed, my doctor is a bit of a joker and Liam said "Oh, very funny!" Then the look she gave us said that she was definately not kidding. She insisted on doing an ultrasound and sure enough there were 2 babies!!! I am so excited and nervous. And i am in so much shock.You would think that with news like this the restaurant would give me the night off, but noooo. I have to go to work now

Halfway there

I'm a day past the halfway mark!!! YAY!! The baby is due on March 3 which means that today there are 139 days left (as you can see on the ticker). Ma has Chloe so Liam and me have been looking through the old baby name books all day. Ma wants me to name the baby Rose Faye (Rose is her name and Faye is my sister) Rose Kyrell just doen't have the same ring as Chloe Kyrell and we want the kids to have meshing names. Plus, we don't even know that it's a girl. Liam likes the name Lucas for a boy and I like the name Kyle. So we decided on either Kyle Lucas or Lucas Kyle. (Kyle Kyrell does sound kind of funny) If it's a girl we have the name picked out (that's what we thought with Chloe to, she was going to be Mickayla Jenette) as of now it's Cassandra Elizabeth. Well, I gotta go get Chloe. I'll try to post tomorrow!
